ORLANDO, Fla. – Whitworth women's tennis picked up its first win in Orlando knocking off Augustana 5-4 at the UTSA Campus.
The Pirates (7-6, 4-2 NWC) snapped a two-match skid to keep them above .500 on the season, and picked up their first win in Orlando with two matches still remaining this week.
Whitworth took two of three doubles matches as #2 Paige Oliver and Audrey Judson won a close 8-7 (7-1) match to kick things off, #3 Meredith Bedford and Jordan Turner-Esposito followed that with a more comfortable 8-3 win.
In singles, Paige delivered another strong showing beating #2 Hannah Colbert 6-0, 6-3. Corbett and Clara Todd clinched the Whitworth win with their performances. Corbett made quick work of #6 Mikayla Kelly 6-4, 6-0 and Todd closed the match with a win over #5 Hattie Timerman 7-5, 6-2.
Whitworth will face off against Kalamazoo from Michigan on Wednesday at 9:30 am eastern.
