FOREST GROVE, Ore. – Visiting Whitworth rolled to a 13-2 five-inning victory at Pacific University on Monday, but rain suspended the second half of the scheduled doubleheader with the game tied 2-2 in the top of the fifth inning.  A completion date and time is still to be determined.

Corinne Vasiloff dominated in the circle and Jazz Johnson drove in five runs with three extra-base hits in the opener.

The Boxers (3-7 overall, 1-2 NWC) scored the first run of the game in the first inning when Samantha Petit opened with a triple and then scored on a fly ball error in right field.

The game remained 1-0 until the third when the Pirates (5-4, 2-1) struck for four runs.  Mattea Nelson doubled home the first run and Heather Menzer followed with a two-run double to right center field.  Johnson drove in Menzer with the fourth run.

Whitworth added five more runs in the fourth.  Johnson had a two-run triple for an 8-1 lead and Taylor Hoffheins singled home Johnson to cap the rally.
