WALLA WALLA, Wash.— The visiting Whitworth Pirates battled to a 1-1 draw with the Whitman Blues in a Northwest Conference women's soccer match on Wednesday evening. 

The Whitworth Pirates (5-8-5, 5-6-4 NWC) and Whitman Blues (5-12-1, 1-10-1 NWC) were in a defensive battle the entirety of the match, with scoring for both teams coming in the final minutes.

In the 83rd minute, Whitworth's Taliya Miyama found Addison Dizard who scored to give the Pirates the lead late in the match. 

The Blues' Gracie Larson found the equalizer in the 88th minute to force the draw. Carolina Gonzalez was credited with an assist. 

Whitman's Molly Beaulieu had a scoring opportunity in the final seconds, but her shot did not get past Pirate goalkeeper Kate Nelson. 

The Pirates outshot the Blues 12-7 in total shot attempts. Both teams had four on-goal attempts. 

Whitworth goalkeeper Kate Nelson had three saves in 90 minutes played. Emily Badgley had three for the Blues. 

Whitworth will play their final match of the season on Saturday against Linfield at 11:00 AM.
