Angela Pierson

Angela Pierson begins the process of developing Whitworth’s Varsity Dance program in 2025-26. She has taught a variety of styles for Whitworth’s Theater and Dance department since 2018, including jazz, musical theatre, hip hop, intro to theatre, and tap. She currently serves as Mead High School’s head coach and choreographer for its dance program, a position she has held for five seasons. She also serves as the resident choreographer for Eastern Washington University’s theater department and numerous surrounding high school programs.

Angela holds an M.F.A. in Interdisciplinary Arts with a Performance Creation Concentration (Goddard College) and a B.A. in Film and Media (Arizona State University). Her dynamic professional background includes teaching and training in New York City, where she taught at the Manhattan Movement & Arts Center and the Eastern School of Music & Arts. She toured for four years on staff with USA Dance, instructing dance teams nationwide. Angela has also performed professionally for regional theaters such as the Utah Festival Opera Theatre and Candlelight Pavilion Dinner Theatre.

Angela is dedicated to the holistic development of the student-athlete. She believes in fostering an environment where every student feels seen, heard, and supported in a safe space. As a leader and storyteller, she is committed to taking responsibility for the narratives shared and empowering students to evolve as thoughtful artists and competitive, thriving performers where the mind and heart connect.
