Terra Haute, Ind. – Whitworth University's Alex Peters finished in 243rd place today at the 2024 NCAA Division III cross country championships, hosted by Rose-Hulman University.
Peters advanced to the national meet as an individual qualifier out of the west region. He covered the eight-kilometer course in 26:05.2. It was Peters' first appearance at a national championship meet in either cross country or track and field.
Christian Patzka of Wisconsin-Whitewater won the race with a time of 24:01.6. Wisconsin-LaCrosse won the team title by almost 100 points over runner-up Wartburg (77 – 173). Pomona-Pitzer, from the west region, was third with 182 points.
There were 294 competitors in the field who finished the race.
