SPOKANE, Wash. – League-leading George Fox kept its unbeaten record with an 18-3 win over Whitworth in a Northwest Conference lacrosse match on Saturday morning at the Whitworth Pine Bowl.

The Bruins improved to 9-0 overall and 7-0 in the NWC while the Pirates dropped to 0-5, 0-5.

George Fox scored the first eight goals of the match in the first 10 minutes.  Kyra Barnes had three of those goals and Andrea Garcia-Milla had four assists in the run.  Whitworth got on the board when Kylee Walker scored a free position goal with 19:11 left.  GFU scored three more times over the next three minutes, but did not score over the final 16:23 of the first half.  The Bruins led 11-1 at halftime.

Trinity Frank scored the first goal of the second half in the first minute to get the Pirates within 11-2.  It's as close as Whitworth would get.  Barnes scored three more times in the second half for George Fox.  Frank scored the Pirates' final goal on an assist from Madison Perry with 15:28 left.

Barnes led GFU with six goals.  Garcia-Milla had two goals and five assists. 

With two goals, Frank doubled her season total for Whitworth to four.

The teams will play again on Sunday at 1:00 pm.  Pirate defender Grace Schmidt will be recognized prior to her final home game.
