SPOKANE, Wash.—The visiting Linfield Wildcats ran away from Whitworth women's lacrosse for the second straight day by a 19-5 score on Sunday.

Linfield improved to 2-2 overall and 2-2 in the Northwest Conference with the weekend sweep, while the Pirates dropped to 0-2, 0-2.

The Pirates got off to a good start, scoring two goals in the first six minutes of the game. The first goal was scored by midfielder Trinity Frank on a free position shot, and the second goal was scored by attacker Carcie Chappell, giving the pirates an early 2-0 lead.

Linfield's high-powered offense took over, scoring thirteen unanswered goals to close out the first half. Maia Rezoski had four of those first-half goals for the Wildcats, and Bethany Shade and Kaitlyn Crouser each had two first-half goals.

Linfield poured it on early in the second half, scoring three goals in the first 10 minutes. Josie Duey added two more goals, bringing her total to three on the day and the score to 16-2.

Madison Perry scored a free position shot for Whitworth with 14 minutes left in the second half, snapping the Wildcats' 16-goal scoring streak.

The Wildcats responded with four unanswered goals, three of them by Rezoski, giving her a total of seven on the day.

The Pirates finished well, scoring two goals in the last three minutes, the first by midfielder Kylee Walker on an assist from Lillian Penfield, and the second goal by Chappell for her second of the day.

Goalie Epi Roldan-Rayo had two saves and allowed four goals and was the winning goalie for the Wildcats. Whitworth goalie Madison Gotthardt had four saves and allowed thirteen goals, getting the loss for the Pirates.

Linfield's Bethany Shade had a dominant showing on Sunday, winning 18 draw controls of the team's 21.

Whitworth had two games cancelled next week, and will play next at Willamette on Saturday, April 10 and Sunday, April 11.
