FOREST GROVE, Ore. – A goal in the 20th minute stood up for visiting Whitworth in a 1-0 victory at Pacific (Ore.) in a Northwest Conference women's soccer match on Saturday afternoon.
The Pirates (10-6-3 overall, 7-5-3 NWC) will finish the season on Sunday at Linfield. The Boxers (6-11-1, 4-10-1) conclude the year with a match against Whitman.
Kalena Pfaeltzer scored her third goal of the season in the 20th minute when Pacific keeper Catherine Corlett saved, but didn't secure, a shot from Gabrialla Coprivnicar. Corprivnicar was credited with the assist.
Kate Nelson made seven saves for Whitworth to post her ninth shutout of the season. Carlett stopped four shots for Pacific.
The Pirates had a 9-8 edge in total shots, but the Boxers led 7-5 in shots on-goal.
