HELENA, Mont. – The Whitworth women's soccer team dropped game two of its Montana road trip 2-0 on Sunday at Carroll College. The Saints (3-3) scored one goal in each half to edge the Pirates (1-3).
Whitworth put six of their eight shots on target. Leah Corra had four shots on goal and five total shots in an aggressive effort for the Pirates. Carroll had 16 total shots, eight on target. The Saints had 11 of their 16 shots come in the first half.
Carroll scored on two unassisted goals. The first came from Michaela Kueffler when she drove past a Whitworth defender and scored far post in the 26th minute. Payton Netz mirrored her teammate in the 51st minute when she was able to beat another Pirate player and finish far post.
Jenna Rogers started the first half for the Pirates and had four saves. Sienna Tanner came in for the second half and had two saves.
Carroll's Jamie Carter finished the match with six saves.
The Pirates start conference play next weekend with a road trip to Tacoma to face PLU and UPS on Saturday and Sunday. Both games will start at 12 p.m. PDT.
