Box Score

Heather Bowman - Assistant SID

SPOKANE, Wash. - On a sunny, Saturday afternoon the Whitworth women's soccer team (7-5-4, 7-3-4) fell to Linfield College (12-3-2, 9-2-2) 1-0 at home.

The match was decided early when Mackenze Doty capitalized on a touch from Anna Sours two yards from the goal to give the Wildcats the lead.

The remainder of the game consisted of dominant possession of the ball by Linfield which included an onslaught of shot opportunities. The Wildcats outshot Whitworth 19-6. Callie Bergstrom (Sr., GK, Spokane, Wash.) valiantly blocked twelve of those shots to keep the Pirates close.

With the loss, the Whit women drop to third in the NWC while Linfield remains tied at first with the University of Puget Sound.

The Bucs will celebrate a spooky Senior Day on Sunday afternoon when they welcome Lewis and Clark College to the Whitworth pitch. The match is set for 2:30 PM.
